SILVIA CASSETTA – BIOGRAFIA
Architect, performer and designer, she weaves together design, the body, and movement research through a multidisciplinary approach. Her artistic research led to the development of the method Dance is Architecture®, which also serves as the title of her book published by Liberedizioni in 2024.
In 2022, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Dance Composition from the Accademia Nazionale di Danza (AND), graduating with highest honors (110/110 cum laude). After working in Milan and London, she established her own studio in Rome as a designer and performer. From late October to December
2023, she carried out international teaching activities at Hainan Normal University in China. Since November 2022, she has been a Lecturer in History of Design at RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts.
In 2022, she was a guest performer at the Demanio Marittimo KM278 Festival, curated by P. Ciorra and C. Colli. Alongside architectural projects, she creates dance performances based on both free and structured improvisation, collaborating with artists and musicians.
Notable projects include S-muove in Brescia (2023), Danzasìa in Matera (2021), and Lira di Luce for the 11th edition of Land Art al Furlo in Fossombrone (2020).
In 2014, she patented an innovative food design tool, Pipoliva, which was selected for ROMA DESIGN LAB 2014. In 2013, she participated in FUORISALONE with the project Dancing Shape. She earned a postgraduated master in Interior Design from the Scuola Politecnica di Design, Milan, in 2008 and worked at Design International in London between 2008 and 2009. In 2005, she graduated with highest honors (110/110 cum laude) in Architecture from the University of Ascoli Piceno.
Since 2007, she has been a registered member of the Order of Architects of the Province of Bari and continues to design internationally, beyond that in Apulia, her region of origin.

Architetto e danzatrice, intreccia in un approccio multidisciplinare design, corpo e ricerca sul movimento. Nella sua ricerca artistica elabora il metodo DanzaèArchitettura,® titolo del suo libro edito da Liberedizioni nel 2024. Consegue il Diploma Accademico di II livello in Composizione della Danza all’AND (Accademia Nazionale di Danza) nel 2022, con 110/Lode. Dopo aver lavorato a Milano e Londra apre il suo studio a Roma come designer e performer.
Da fine Ottobre a Dicembre 2023 svolge attività di docenza Internazionale presso la Hainan Norman University in Cina. È docente di Storia del Design alla RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts – da Novembre 2022.
Nel 2022 è ospite performer al Festival Demanio Marittimo KM278, curatela di P. Ciorra/C. Colli. Oltre ai progetti di architettura crea performance di danza basate sulla improvvisazione libera e strutturata, collaborando con artisti e musicisti. Tra i più importanti S-muove a Brescia (2023), Danzasìa a Matera (2021), Lira di Luce per la XI ed. di Land Art al Furlo a Fossombrone (2020).
Nel 2014 brevetta un utensile innovativo, per il food design; Pipoliva. Il progetto viene selezionato per il ROMA DESIGN LAB 2014. Nel 2013 partecipa al FUORISALONE con il progetto Dancing Shape.
Nel 2008 consegue il Master in Interior Design presso la Scuola Politecnica di Design di Milano. Dal 2008-2009 lavora in Design International a Londra. Nel 2005 si laurea con 110 e lode presso la facoltà di Architettura di Ascoli Piceno. Dal 2007 è iscritta all’ Ordine degli Architetti della Provincia di Bari e
lavora a livello internazionale, oltre che in Puglia, sua terra d’origine.
